Demographic Transition StagePanama is in Stage 2 or Stage 3 of the Demographic Transition. I believe that it is in Stage 2 or 3 because the population growth rate is high (1.5% natural increase.) It's not as high as 2.0% but it is still growing quickly. Its age-sex diagram is starting to change to become more columnlike, meaning that there are more people living to an older age and that the healthcare and living quality is getting better, so less children will be born because people will be taking care of the older people.
